PURIFICATION
Primer Grade (NO
CHARGE)
Organic extraction, precipitation,
and two vacuum desiccation steps are used to remove small molecule
contaminants from every oligonucleotide.
GEL PURIFICATION
(Research Grade)
Gel purification is the most
economical way to purify oligonucleotides for research needs. It
is currently the best purification choice for longer oligonucleotides
(>40 bases) and for oligonucleotides in which secondary structure
may substantially interfere with HPLC purification.
Standard HPLC Purification
Grades*
80% - 90%
Level I 90 - <95% Pure
Level II 95 - 99+% Pure
**Gel photograph and analytical
HPLC traces are sent.
Capillary electrophoresis
traces are provided.
There are yield differences
with each HPLC purification level. When increasing the percent
purity (i.e., from level I to level II), the yield decreases. Longer
lead times may be required for higher purity levels, especially
if process development is undertaken. Final yields can be sequence
dependent.
*Other minimum purity levels
are available with prior approval from our Technical Services Department.
